SPIT JAM
from spray to life
Spit Jam arises from the need to redevelop the outer walls of the public restrooms in Valmadrera's market square, which are currently in a state of disrepair. It stems from the desire to restore dignity to a central hub for the town, home to the local market and numerous events throughout the year. The project combines urban art, active citizenship, and sustainability: through a competition inspired by the theme "Mural Organisms," artists and writers will transform these surfaces into walls that speak, breathe, and tell stories. On August 31st, a major live event will bring the square to life with music, street dance, rap, skateboarding, creative markets, and spaces for dialogue. Upon completion, each mural will be protected with a special paint that improves air quality, turning the surfaces into a true urban lung. Spit Jam is just the beginning: the goal is to create a permanent public art circuit that will give new life to the city.
